A 35-year-old man has killed his six-year-old son with a machete at Antwiriifo, near Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region.
The man was later shot by a Customs Officer while attempting to flee.
According to a police report, the incident occurred last Wednesday when authorities received information about the man, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, inflicting multiple machete wounds on the boy, resulting in his death.
The motive behind the act remains unknown.
Upon receiving the report, the Dormaa District Police Command visited the scene and discovered the bodies of both the victim and the suspect.
“Investigators will be dispatched to the scene for further investigations,” a police statement noted. — GNA
